We have launched a new website, 'Leicester's Research', which has been designed to better meet the needs of researchers, external sponsors and members of the public.

Research and innovation has been identified as an area of importance in our Trust strategy. We continue to create new state-of-the-art facilities, such as a Children’s Research Space, and develop our existing capabilities, to enhance our research portfolio.
We are fortunate to host several National Institute for Health Research bodies with our academic partners the Universities of Leicester and Loughborough: the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre, the Clinical Research Network: East Midlands and Collaboration in Leadership for Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) East Midlands. We also have Experimental Cancer Medicine Research Centre status and as the result of Leicester achieving Cancer Research UK Centre status, the HOPE Unit is vital in the delivery of its research.
The experienced Research and Innovation team consistently delivers an efficient approvals process with increasing year on year recruitment to time and target. We also have specialists focusing on the feasibility process, contracts, our own monitoring and training team and an effective core who drive the approvals process.
Our patient population is large and diverse. Our patient and public involvement (PPI) work is evolving, with more opportunities being developed to embed PPI within research throughout the Trust.
With all the above, Leicester is a great place to choose to become involved in clinical research.
